There is no soft whisper in the Indian electric two-wheeler segment anymore. What started as a handful of startups experimenting with unusual concepts has quickly turned into a dog-eat-dog space. The nascent momentum was set rolling by Ola Electric and Ather Energy, as bigger players TVS and Bajaj got their feet in with the iQube and Chetak, respectively.
The next stage of this is already underway. Honda has stepped into the ring with the QC1 and Activa e, while Hero MotoCorp is adding to its Vida range. Suzuki has released the e-Access after much speculation. A growing roster of choices means buyers are now confronted with a nice problem. Here’s how the newly launched Suzuki e-Access stacks up against the very popular Ather Rizta.
The e-Access is set, at least by Suzuki, very much apart from much of its electric competition.
Suzuki e-Access vs Ather Rizta: Price
Suzuki has priced the e-Access at ₹1.88 lakh (ex-showroom), making it nothing short of a premium electric scooter. It is a statement of purpose, to be sure, but one that needs to be paid for.

The Ather Rizta, on the other hand, takes a more inclusive pricing approach. It has been made available in three versions , and ex-showroom prices of the bike start at ₹1.11 lakh for the base variant, while going up to ₹1.51 lakh (ex-showroom) for its top-end trim. This more extensive distribution enables potential customers to adjust their purchases to better align with budget constraints and daily usage needs.

Suzuki e-Access vs Ather Rizta: battery and performance
Powering the Suzuki e-Access is a 3.07 kWh battery pack, along with an electric motor that delivers 5.49 bhp and 15 Nm of torque. It is capable of achieving a top speed of 71 kmph and has a travel range of up to 95 km on a full charge, the company claims. It’s claimed that a battery, when completely drained, can be brought back to life in about 6 hours.
Here, the Ather Rizta is more versatile. Consumers can select either the 2.9 kWh or 3.7 kWh battery variant. Ranging from 123 -160 km on the variant chosen. On paper, the Rizta also seems a bit more punchy, reaching 80 kmph, which would undoubtedly make it that much more appealing to riders who like zippy urban performance.
Suzuki e-Access vs Ather Rizta: Verdict
The figures show that e-Access has been optimised for urban commuters seeking a reputable brand and a no-nonsense electric experience. But the Ather Rizta is significantly ahead in leading the chase. It offers the best range, the highest top speed, and a range of models to suit different riding styles. Considering the high price of the e-Access, the Rizta now appears to be a cheaper option after all.
