Tata electrification has already caused waves with the updated Punch EV, featuring a bigger battery pack and an eye-catching competitive price point. And that’s just the start. The homegrown maker is gearing up to launch two additional electric contenders in the Indian market this year — the long-awaited Sierra EV and a fully facelifted Tiago EV.
Tata Sierra EV will launch in the second quarter of 2026 (April to June). Based on the Acti.ev platform, the all-new Sierra EV will create a new segment. On the other hand, the Tiago EV facelift is also expected to make its debut before festive fervour kicks in (most probably ahead of Diwali).
Tata Sierra EV
The new Sierra EV will be built upon the latest Acti. EV architecture — the same platform that underpins Curvv EV and Punch EV on a modular basis. It will face stiff competition in the market from SUVs like the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, and Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara.
It will likely use a pair of battery configurations: a 55kWh pack from the Curvv EV and a larger, 65kWh unit taken from its Harrier EV. The base layout will be front-wheel-drive. The more powerful 65kWh model will likely also receive a dual-motor all-wheel-drive arrangement for improved traction and performance.

Real-world range estimates are hovering around 400–450km on a single charge. Practical. Competitive. Sufficient for most daily and intercity commutes.
We expect the Sierra EV to feature a futuristic triple-screen dashboard. Expect to see a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with an additional 12.3-inch co-passenger display and a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s instrument cluster.
The feature list is an impressive read, including full LED lighting, powered and ventilated front seats, a glass roof with a panoramic sunroof function, dual-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold. Modern, sophisticated, and distinctly premium.
Tata Tiago EV Facelift
The Tiago EV facelift has already been spotted testing on Indian roads. While the test mule is still heavily camouflaged, several visual updates seem just around the corner.
Exterior updates are likely to include LED DRL headlamps, a blanked-off grille, a refreshed lower bumper, new fog lamp housings, modified ORVMs, and reworked tail lamps. Subtle yet meaningful refinements. A 360-degree surround-view camera is also rumoured—a much-needed feature in metropolitan areas.

A new uplift will likely be carried out in the cabin. Expected updates include a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen, a new steering wheel with an illuminated logo, a redesigned instrument cluster, and improved rear-view camera details.
The most consequential transformation may take place under the skin. A larger battery pack using new prismatic cells — as seen on the 2026 Punch EV facelift — could be deployed in the facelifted model. Now, the existing Tiago EV gets 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery options. A more capacious option would greatly aid practicality and extend driving range.
