Genesis has revealed that the GV90 would make its international premiere on April 18, 2025 New York Auto Show. “You’ve seen it already with the Neolun concept… this is the new flagship of the brand,” Genesis Chief Designer Luc Donckerwolke remarked in a recent interview with AutoExpress.
He also noted how our definition of flagship vehicles changed from conventional sedans to big, opulent SUVs.
Genesis Targets Prestige Rather Than Chasing Volume
Genesis is going in a different direction while others like Hyundai and Kia are engaged in volume game. Their plan is Give profitability and reputation first priority instead of mass-market appeal.
Genesis is presenting the GV90 as a statement car—a polished, elite SUV stressing luxury above mass. As Donckerwolke explained, production is getting closer and the brand is ready to unveil many flagship models.
Coach Doors, Minimalist Architecture, and Exclusive Details
There is great buzz around the GV90; we have already seen it in public a few times. Most notably, a prototype was seen lately wearing coach doors—a design element slated to be incorporated in a luxury trim.
Genesis has also started a campaign called “Blank Canvas,” highlighting the elegant design and opulent intention behind the Neolun concept. Along with Hyundai’s newest connection and in-car software innovation, the production GV90 will carry forth most of that artistic concept.
When might the Genesis GV90 EV become available?
