Nissan’s legendary Micra is sleek and electrified, returning to Europe—this time only electric. Built on the Renault 5 E-Tech platform, the sixth-generation Micra EV rekindles interest in the compact hatchback market by combining eccentric appearance, clever performance, and city-friendly dimensions. Google built-in technology, a distinctive personality, and up to 254 miles of range; the all-new Micra shows not every EV needs to be an SUV.

⚡ A New Electric Identity Built from Renault DNA
Although the future Renault 5 E-Tech may have some of the bones of the 2025 Nissan Micra EV, Nissan has gone above and beyond to guarantee this hatchback has unique qualities. Designed in London by Nissan’s European design team, each unique panel on the Micra offers a whimsical, young look for the small electric vehicle market.
A homage to its whimsical past, the Micra has thin, rectangular headlamps combined with dynamic circular LED daytime running lights up front. The so-called “ice cream scoop,” a unique indentation from the headlights toward the rear doors, gives the automobile a cheerful yet chiseled appeal.

Its odd appearance is enhanced at the back by round tails featuring unusual segmented lighting elements. Up to 14 color options and optional two-tone paint schemes provide drivers plenty of flexibility for personalizing.
🚗 Compact Outside, Creative Inside
Although the Micra is only slightly under 157 inches long, it uses its available space extensively. The Micra’s boxy dimensions and straight posture help it to create an amazing 1,106 liters of internal volume—more than plenty for compact families or city dwellers.

Inside, the arrangement is modern and tidy. With Google built-in, giving simple navigation, streaming, and voice control, Twin 10.1-inch displays manage infotainment and driving information. Replacing Renault’s insignia, a stylized Mount Fuji symbol in the center console gently pays homage to Nissan’s legacy.

Three interior themes are available to buyers: intense blue, brilliant orange, and contrasting trims with unique materials and hues. Though Nissan has not yet been confirmed, there is even potential for an interior influenced by denim like the Renault 5.

⚡Two choices for a powertrain; plenty of range
Two single-motor, front-wheel-drive setups for the Micra EV are available:
40 kWh battery / 121 horsepower / up to 193 miles (310km) WLTP range
52 kWh battery / 148 horsepower / up to 254 miles (408km) WLTP range
The Micra stays light for an EV, weighing in at 3,086 to 3,360 pounds, improving handling and efficiency. Perfect for brief urban pit breaks, the bigger battery allows 100 kW DC fast charging and allows a 15% to 80% recharge in 30 minutes.

Included also were regenerative braking under control via steering-wheel paddles, a heat pump, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capacity. Complementing the tech suite with numerous drive modes and ProPilot Assist provides a mix of comfort and control.
😊 Europe-Only (For Now)
Sadly for American viewers, the Micra EV is only available in Europe. Nissan’s U.S. emphasis is squarely on SUVs and performance coupes like the Z as it pulls back its sedan offers in the country—phase offss the Versa and Altima, and moves the Leaf into a crossover by 2026.

On the other hand, Europe’s passion for little, fuel-efficient city vehicles helps models like the Micra to survive and flourish. Later in 2025, the Micra EV will reach European showrooms; pricing will be disclosed nearer to launch.
🛣️ Future: Nissan’s EV Policies
Nissan’s European EV attack is only getting started with the Micra. The business intends to launch four additional electric cars by 2027: successors to the Leaf, Juke, a mystery A-segment mini EV that offers even more compact appeal, and others.

The fight for Europe’s electric city vehicle throne intensifies as rivals like BYD’s Dolphin Mini already create waves in the reasonably priced EV market.
🚘 Final Thoughts
Not only a rebadged Renault, the new Nissan Micra EV is a well-crafted, feature-packed little EV that brings individuality and utility back to the Hatchback market. For city drivers wishing to go electric without compromising fun or flare, this is an attractive choice with a cute face, customizable design, and up to 254 miles of range.
Nissan’s newest product is one to see whether your nostalgia for the past Micra or excitement about what’s ahead in urban EV mobility.
